Jump Start Your College Tennis Preparation

It takes about 5-8 years of high quality training for most tennis players to achieve college playing levels. Let Match point design the proper routine for you during this period. In the past 15 years over 60% of players who have followed supervised training routines by Elson De Cantuaria and MPTA’s  coaching staff have gone on to play college tennis. At MPTA we approach training with long-term goals in mind for our students. We fully understand that a long time commitment to training and development is essential to produce high-level tennis players.

This program is designed for players who are looking for a specific program to help them get into specific colleges and players/parents with defined professional playing aspirations.

Pre-College Program I

Objective:  Move into Pre-College II by 14 years old.  Additional individual goals set by Elson in conjunction with MPTA and private coaches
Eligibility:  Under 13 years old
Acceptance based on Coaches’ evaluation

All Players must be enrolled in the regular programs for at least *1 (one) month prior to enrollment in this program to facilitate evaluation
Price options:           
$740/month (price changes during summer)
Mandatory Practice load (school year):
1 exclusive workout a week (Monday 5:30-7:00 pm)
2 regular afternoon or Saturday workout a week
1 lesson a week
*program price changes if having any lesson with Elson

Pre-College Program II

Objective: Move to Pre-College III by the end of 9th grade
Eligibility:  Under 15 years old and
Top 150(section) on boys/girls 12s
Top 20 boys/girls 12s satellite
Top 200(section) on boys/girls 14s
Top 50 boys/girls 14s satellite
Price options:           
$740/month (price changes during summer)
Mandatory Practice load (school year):
1 exclusive workout a week (Friday 5:30-7:00 pm)
2 regular afternoon or Saturday workout a week
1 lesson a week
*program price changes if having any lesson with Elson

Pre-College Program III

Objective:           
Move into Pre-College IV before senior year in high school           
Eligibility:  13 years old and
*Top 175(section) or top 700(nation) on boys 14s/ top *150(section) or top 700(nation) on girls 14s
*Top 250(section) or top 1000(nation) on boys /girls 16s/18s
Price
$1000/month
Mandatory practice load (school year):
2 evening workout a week (Mon & Wed 7-9)
1 regular afternoon or Saturday workout a week
+ One (1) lesson a week

Pre-College Program IV

Objective:           
            100% college tennis roster placement
            75% partial scholarship
            40% full scholarship
For all players who attend the program until the end of their senior year in high school

Eligibility:  13 years old and
*Top 100(section) or top 500(nation) on boys 14s
*Top 60(section) or top 350(nation) on girls 14s
*Top 150(section) or top 600(nation) on boys /girls 16s/18s

*Ranking requirements alone aren’t sufficient for acceptance.  All individual results and player’s conduct will be evaluated before entering this program.

$1000/month

2 evening workouts a week (Mon & Wed 7-9)
 1 regular afternoon or Saturday workout a week
1 lesson a week

Notes:

  • All programs include unlimited clinics as long as there are openings
  • MPTA will help supervise the players’ tournament schedule
  • We will watch players on some of the local tournaments
  • 12 players maximum will be admitted to each Pre- College program
  • Once the program is filled up, MPTA will start a wait list for players interested in joining the program
  • Players in high school must make arrangements with high school coaches so they don’t have to interrupt the pre-college schedule during High School tennis season.
  • If a player has more than two (2) unexcused absences a month, he/she might be dropped out of the program (excuses must be approved by Elson)
  • 5% discount for each additional sibling in pre-college programs.
  • 10% discount if paying 3 months in advance.
